I guess that means more DMX.
The Hollywood Reporter has reported that allegedly a sequel to Fox’s R-rated superhero action comedy Deadpool has already been greenlit. The script is apparently already in development, with Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick returning to helm the project. It is currently unknown is Tim Miller will return to direct.
Ryan Reynolds has previously spoke out about potential Deadpool sequels stating:
“In the future I think, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re going to really explore the X-Men a lot, and maybe X-Force, X-Force is really my priority. I really want to get that in.”
While this shows that a Deadpool sequel might have always been on the table, this is the first solid confirmation that a sequel is already being worked on.
This just adds to the already extremely positive buzz Deadpool has been getting, sitting at currently an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes and a projected $65-70 million dollar opening weekend. A sequel already being developed just shows how confident Fox is in their latest comic book movie. I am already extremely excited to see ‘Deadpool’ this weekend and this piece of news is only amplifying my feelings. Thursday night can’t come soon enough.
Deadpool opens this Friday.
