Marvel just dropped the second trailer for the second season of Daredevil and boy did it give us a lot of good stuff.

First and foremost, as the above image shows off, we’re getting a new an improved costume for Daredevil and I couldn’t be happier about that. While I loved the first season to pieces as soon as Matt Murdock got the Daredevil suit and fought Fisk, Daredevil changed from a gritty crime drama to a really bad episode of Arrow just do to how cheesy and goofy the suit looked. The new suit looks much more aesthetically pleasing, taking more design cues from the classic comic costume. The comic geek in me especially loves the red eyes. Here’s hoping Matt gets the new suit sooner rather than later.

This trailer also gave us our first in depth look at Elektra and her relationship with Matt. Based on this trailer alone, it looks like Daredevil is going to be sticking pretty closely to its source material in terms of how Elektra is portrayed. There are various scenes of Matt and Elektra talking as civilians, as well as them fighting together as vigilantes. I’m excited to see their dynamic portrayed well on screen (coughdaredevil2003cough).

One thing I was not expecting was a new arc dealing with The Hand clan. Due to their focus on Daredevil’s rivalry with The Punisher, as well as his relationship with Elektra, I wasn’t sure what else they would have time to cover, but it excites me to see The Hand, as well as what I am speculating to be a revived Nobu.  The supernatural ninja elements has always been one of my favorites parts of the Daredevil mythos, and I’m glad to see it’ll be getting some love this new season. I have feeling a lot of The Hand stuff will tie into the upcoming Defenders series.

Check out the new trailer below:

Daredevil season 2 is going to have a lot of stuff to cover, but early reviews have been  very positive, stating that it’s on par with the first season, which is great news. Season 2 can’t come soon enough.

Daredevil season 2 will be released to Netflix on March 18th.
