Please be good.

I desperately want this movie to succeed. I’m not familiar with the source material at all (I’ve never played a single Warcraft game), but I’m a big fantasy fan and there hasn’t really been a decent fantasy flick in a long time. Couple that with the fact that it is an adaptation of a video game as well, and I so desperately want to see more and more video game franchises get their own live action adaptations, and you get a film that I remain the biggest cheerleader for.

I was not a fan of the first trailer at all, I thought the CGI looked pretty poor and the entire film had this weird glossy look that almost made it look cheap. This second trailer has massively improved on both of these aspect, and I have regained the little hope I had lost. I’m a big fan of director Duncan Jones’s previous work (Moon, Source Code), so I’ve always had high hopes for what he could do with Warcraft. While I am still not 100% that this movie is going to be good, this trailer has given me a little more hope.

Check it out for yourselves below:

Warcraft releases June 10, 2016. Here’s the offical synopsis:

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.

So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
