Ben Affleck stars as an autistic assassin.
Affleck is a busy guy these days, from starring, writing, producing, and directing various Batman endeavors for Warner Bros., it’s amazing he has time to work on any other projects. Luckily for us he somehow does, as proven by the trailer for the upcoming Gavin O’Connor helmed action-thriller film The Accountant. Check it out:
Wow, that was a good trailer. I’m still not completely sure what the film is about (which is the mark of a good trailer in my opinion) other than Affleck makes accounting look really cool, which is impressive. The way the trailer was cut with the addition of a Radiohead track made this trailer feel very Fincher-esque, which appeals to me greatly.
I’m not overly familiar with O’Connor’s work as a director, but if this trailer is any indication than The Accountant is something to watch it for. I’m very curios to see more of this film.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.
