I’ll give you two guesses what BFG stands for.
A new trailer for Steven Spielberg’s latest film The BFG just dropped and its significantly more action packed than the first trailer we got. Check it out:
I really liked this trailer, it had this sort of magical, youthful feeling to it in the same way the trailer for Pete’s Dragon did. This trailer felt like I was watching a live action fairy tale, which I assume is what Spielberg was going for.
Seeing all of the other giants was pretty cool and they had an interesting look. Although I have to say CGI giant Mark Rylance does make me a tad uncomfortable, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it once I’m in the theater watching the film. It’s nice to see Spielberg directing another fun family film after his stint of period piece dramas.
The script was written by E.T. writer Melissa Mathison, and was the last script she penned before her death. For her final film to be helmed by Steven Spielberg seems fitting, and will hopefully act as a great send off for her.
We won’t have to wait much longer for the film, as The BFGopens July 1st.
