Excuse me if I don’t take his word for it.
Dan Aykroyd, OG ghostbuster, dropped by WhoSay last night to give us this little nugget of information:
“As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I’m paying to see that and bringing all my friends!”
The guy who gave us the original Ghostbusters says he loves the new Ghostbusters. While on the surface that is quite high praise, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to believe it. Aykroyd is serving as both an Executive Producer and a small member of the cast, he wouldn’t trash talk his own film. Plus, Ghostbusters is his baby, of course he would want it to succeed.
That being said, I want to believe him. I don’t want any film to be bad, especially a film with as much riding on it as Ghostbusters. If Ghostbusters fails, I feel many Hollywood executives will look at that as an example of “women lead films don’t make money!” and will set equality back a few steps (until Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman hopefully prove that wrong). I truly hope that Aykroyd’s right, but as of now all of the marketing for this film has done nothing but convince me otherwise.
Ghostbusters hits theaters July 15th.
I do not know of any softphone that’s “constantly on” phone recording where it records every call without user input, but I do not know them all
as I mostly use Bria myself.
