Disney is about to make another billion dollars.
This is a fact. Walt Disney Animation Studios seem to be in the business of simply printing money, as Frozen, Big Hero 6, and Zootopia have all made apparent. If the Walt Disney Animation Studios name attached to Moana wasn’t enough to get you excited, check out this gorgeous international trailer for a film that is sure to make all the money:
God damn my heart strings are already being pulled, and it’s from a trailer without any dialogue! I’ve gotta say that I’ve loved everything we’ve seen from Moana, and this trailer continues the trend. Based on visuals alone Moana looks to be stunning, and knowing Walt Disney Animation Studios, there’s definitely going to be some real depth to the film as well.
But Dane, what exactly is this film about? Well lucky for you reader I have a synopsis on hand:
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one today knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.
So if the trailer wasn’t enough to get you excited for Moana, than surely that premise will. Plus, it’s got Dwanye Johnson attached, which is always fun. This looks to be another knockout from Disney, and we’ll all be able to watch it dominate the box office when it hits theaters November 23rd.
You going or nah?
This is the first movie from Disney animation in a long time that I wan’t to see in theaters. Please have Maui do the rock bottom to something big and scaly 🙂
