This is too good.

So, the reviews for WB’s Suicide Squad are out, and to say they aren’t pretty would be putting it mildly. A disgruntled DC fan has had enough of this sort of injustice and obvious critical bias towards DC movies, and has started a petition demanding Rotten Tomatoes be shut down (I’m not making this up). It reads:

We need this site to be shut down because It’s Critics always give The DC Extended Universe movies unjust Bad Reviews, Like

1- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 2016

2- Suicide Squad 2016

and that Affects people’s opinion even if it’s a really great movies

I’m having a hard time believing this person is that dense (especially with grammar as terrible as this), but I’ll play along. I don’t think this person really understand how Rotten Tomatoes works. Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t have its own “critics”, it is an aggregation of reviews from a countless number of sites, and consolidates these reviews into a percentage of critics who liked a film. Shutting down Rotten Tomatoes would not stop critics from critiquing a film.

What’s really amusing about this is the extent some people will go to silence opinions they disagree with. It’s no secret that the DC Extended Universe has had a troubled launch, but many fans of the franchise fail to see it that way. No, it’s not that most people disliked a movie they liked, that’s impossible. The problem is that critics are being paid off, the critics are biased, Rotten Tomatoes is unfair, or any other insane conspiracy theory that they can come up with.

Look, I understand the frustration one can feel when you disagree with the consensus (this is coming from a fan of the Warcraft movie), but to go to this extent, to try to silence opinions that aren’t like theirs? This is getting ridiculous.

Chill out guys, it’s just a fucking movie.
