Guess who’s back?
If you’re like me, you’ve been furiously refreshing your Twitter feed awaiting the newest trailer for Disney’s first Star Wars anthology film. Well, it’s here, and I’ll get on with it already. Check it out:
I have to admit, I’m a little…underwhelmed? It wasn’t a bad trailer or anything, but I felt like it was missing something. I’m neither more or less excited about seeing the film after seeing that trailer, so I guess it could have been worse.
At least they cut out the god awful “I rebel” line, so that’s progress! We got to see a lot more of the supporting cast of the film, giving us quick looks at Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, and of course Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO (I’m looking forward to his character the most). There’s a bit more humor and heart in this trailer than the last one, so that’s something. I’m still not sold on Felicity Jones in this role, she almost feels like she is meant to be in a different film, but hopefully she’ll be able to win me over.
Something I loved about this trailer were all of the shots of starships suspended in the sky in atmosphere. They look that much more menacing and gargantuan, and really emphasizes the sheer scale of the Empire.
Also, Darth Vader hype!
All in all, a pretty solid trailer, but nothing to go crazy about. I’m sure we’ll all have plenty of time to do that, as we still have over four months to go until we can actually see this thing.
