The long-awaited trailer for Silence, the latest three-hour epic from Martin Scorsese, is finally here. I guess Paramount finally discovered their movie comes out in exactly one month and realized they have done zero marketing for it, and figured a trailer was due.
Without further ado, the trailer:
Holy shit, this looks great. Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield, and Adam Driver are one hell of a team, and they all look great (and dirty) in this trailer. I’m not exactly sure what is going on, other than the fact that these amigos are Christians, and it doesn’t seem like the Japanese are taking to kindly to that. This looks like it’s going to get bloody.
I’m into it.
Visually, this trailer is beautiful, which is expected from Scorsese. The piece of music on display here is stunning as well. This is Scorsese’s first film since The Wolf of Wall Street, and it looks like he’s marking his return with a bang. I’m so ready to become engulfed in three hours of Scorsese, even if they appear to be particularly dour.
Here’s a synopsis:
Two 17th-century Portuguese missionaries return to Japan to minister to Christians who’ve been outlawed.
